    Mellon is the name of the inventor who created that geometry.
    Today it is generically called DOC, acronym for Double Open Comb.
    However, it seems that RazoRock SLOC is less sweet than the others.

    I totally agree. The SLOC with the Bulldog handle was my daily driver last winter. Lately I've been experimenting with vintage Gillettes. May be time to go back.

    Thank you very much for the information. I had read about the original concept, that’s why I got the SLOC.
    I did not know it was different than the original. What razor, if any, is like the original?
    Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks again on the tip.

    Great looking set-up. Your razor is in terrific condition sir. And I've recently discovered Omega & the pleasures of boar. Your brush is lovely & looks like it fits nicely in the hand.

    Riding the cap is extremely easy with this vintage Cosmo Mfg Co oc. Easy and natural, but very critical, since it doesnt cut well even with a Voshkod if the angle isnt right. First shave with it today was a pure joy!

    The ABC razor sure is efficient, boy howdy! Using a steep angle makes it more smooth. There's a lot more audible feedback with the steep angle, but it doesn't grab onto every hill & valley on your face with a steep angle. Overall, a very nice shave with a 105 year old razor.
