I really like to face lather. And I like shave soap rather than shave cream for face lathering. Because of this, I tend to put my soaps in a mug, and then use them until they are gone. I do have 8 mugs in my rotation, so there is at least that much variety for me, but I tend to focus on 2-3 products at a time. For my soaps in a mug, I rinse the brush under hot water, then put enough hot water in the mug to cover the bristles, put the brush in- and let it BLOOM. I use the bloom water as a pre-shave. So when I lather, the mug is emptied of the bloom water, which has been applied to my face. I find that this method provides for a superior face lather. I load the brush with very little time (5 seconds) / and only a few (5-6) passes of the brush over the surface of the soap. Between passes, I place the brush back in the mug. If there is "residual lather" in there, I scoop it out to use on my face. When I am done, I rinse the brush out - but NOT the mug. Occasionally, I use a soap right out of the container, if I am anxious to try something not currently in my rotation. Here, I just wet the brush and scrub it on the soap- it usually takes more time and passes to load the brush in this case. But, when I am done, I rinse the brush out - but NOT the container. The residual stays with the soap. Will be used next time.
I promise The Collective We aren't pushing an agenda by artisan soap makers. Last month I did an experiment. I used the same soap for a week at a time. I know, crazy, right? I thought it would be a novel experience to use the same product more than once every couple of weeks. Ever since it was my turn with The Soap Pass Around Box I've been trying a different soap each shave. I still have samples I haven't tried yet. Those sneaky soap makers keep coming out with new products faster than I can lather.
I'm growing a bowl of Yardley's and it should be ready this week. I just fed it with a little Skinbracer, and Glycerine. Due to being made in 1924 it was needing a little drink. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

I haven't looked in my Frankensoap jar of all my little odds and ends for quite a while. Spose it's reproducing in there?
It could be. I've gotten some of my best shaves from my Frankensoap. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
@Steve C - On behalf of those of us that went and did it, I apologize for this classic example of Topic Drift. (I include myself in "You Guys")
