Last year I saved these photos to my phone & unfortunately I can't seem to find the site where I found them again. Is this a razor which you are familiar with?

More spring cleaning and pulling items out of their hiding places.

A couple of Schick travel sets. One with a black and chrome L and the other with a gold Krona. The L still has the dummy blade in it but the finish is a little dull. I suppose I need to give it a quick bath.

That is most likely a genuine 1965 model. It is the hard to read but the M-xx-xxxx denotes the packaging year is 1965 since it says M-65-xxxx. That order# if it was by individual razor then yours is the 274th razor produced, if by sales orders there could have easily been 200 to 300+ in 1965 for distributors, and other direct buy customers to initially stock the razors. Out of curiosity what type of sticker is on the knob? Is it the Schick logo with the triangle or the +Schick+ style one?

That is a really cool collector's piece, congratulations.

Thanks. It's solid evidence to support your newspaper ads / posting regarding the fact that the Krona name did not come along until later. Also this razor has been used. They former owner (a father) for what ever reason left the card on the razor all these years. The number marking on the underside top not visible is 3 and 2. It also came with the instructions sheet is marked M 64. Also the blade plate has a single "A" marking?

It seems like they put together instruction sheets earlier than the packaging. It is not uncommon for a company to take a year or more to get a product from design to retail. Usually the retailing packaging being the last piece worked on. I have no idea what the A marking would have been. The numbers I would speculate have to do with which plant/machine/die was used to make the plate.

This is not a Perfect time line but has some interesting historical facts and I thought some would enjoy it like I do very much. A lot of effort goes into research like some here know very well.
