Almost got my wish for a talking dog. Nephew headed to Texas to help his mom. He needed a dog sitter, so Hurley is staying with me for a couple days. He's a dog, but only speaks in doggish.
On to the Soap Pass Around! I took a second sniff through The Box this morning. Here's the contents before any products were diaturbed.

Most all of the Bay Rums moved straight into the new outgoing Box. I might have kept one or two because I haven't tried the particular brand. Next up is to see what I have in my cabinet that's not getting love.
The 30 Day Rule/Focus group has been kicking the Soap Commander around lately so I cut a small slice from the oddly colored Wisdom sample. Mashed it into my suribachi bowl and produced a great lather.

Yup, I could like this one!

Finally had a few moments to spend with The Box. The Dollar Tree 7 day pill reminder stacks work great! I started with the Vendor No-Swap soaps. Then the non Bay Rum others chosen either because I haven't tried the particular manufacturer or because I liked the scent.
I've scooped small bits of the following;
MWF ( I tried to lather it, no luck.)

I like the scent of the celtic knot. The lather looked rich, creamy, and shiny but, there was not much cushion. I ended up with a bit of irritation, so I had to call this one CCS instead of DFS.

How did you attempt to load or lather the Mitchell's Wool Fat? It's a great, great soap and I'd like to help troubleshoot for you if you're interested.

Also, I don't the Provence Sante really had much of a scent other than a light, clean soapy smell. It's very mild. It's a good (but not great) no frills soap.

Read the first post in this thread. When The Box gets to you, instead of using your brush to make lather on the soap, you take a sample of the ones you want to try. So I took samples of the brands I haven't tried yet, and the ones that smelled good. Soon I'll send The Box to the next person, but I'll be trying soaps from The Box for a month!
These 7 day pill boxes are $1.00 from Dollar Tree stores. I need one or two more.

I rubbed a little in the bottom of my textured shave bowl, then applied a moist brush. I knew there were things to learn about MWF so I'm not fussing about it's performance. I did "lather up" with what little lather I made. It went clear & transparent on my face, but I still shaved with it. Good glide, plenty slick, acceptable scent. Just no visible lather.
As to the Provence Sante, there are plenty of good soaps that I'm looking for the great ones. I have no allergies to EO's or ingredients so for me it's a combo of performance and scent. Life's too short to use mediocre soap.

Today's Shave from The Box

Mystic Water soap, B-400 Tuxedo
Gillette 195, Wilkinson Sword blade
Alum, Proraso Refresh AS lotion


One of my top sniffed soaps in the Soap Pass-around. Enhanced with shea butter, lanolin, and full-on scent it lathers easily. My regular routine of WTG at 9, 6 for the rest of the shave gave great reduction and zero irritation. Alum swiped glass smooth and cool. DFS for sure. Splashed on the Proraso for a like scent. Now I can't tell if I'm still smelling the soap, or the AS is that good. I want a glass of raspberry lemonade.

Today I tried a soap I wanted to like. Meh. Dapper Dragon sounds interesting. Green Dragon listed as a tallow & shea butter formula; cedar and bergamot blend with leather, rosemary and lily of the valley for a heady aroma. Turned out to be light on scent. Performance was acceptable bordering on mediocre. So now I've been there, done that one.
I'm about ready to ship The Box on it's way. Still a couple creams I haven't gathered samples from. Should I really like the looks of any I'll post before I pull, pack, and ship.

Make sure to grab some samples for later use before you ship out.
