I am still doing it. Works great on a Utopia... Way less scrape sensation.

Thanks! I'm very happy with the way it turned out, and spending the extra time to sand out the opening to get the knot deeper. It's in my top 2 along with my WD 30/45 Silvertip.

    PSO: Shave Secret
    Soap: homemade IdC
    Brush: Omega 10019
    Razor: FaTip Grande
    Blade: Treet black (carbon)
After Shave: Nivea Cool Kick "Arctic Freeze" (<— p-shaw! barely cool, I say)

After some painful startup lessons and several days off, I returned to my FaTip Grande to see if I had truly learned how to "tame The Beast." Because of my late start on a NovemBEARD, I was shaving only the neck area with 5 days growth. The Treet black already had 2 shaves on it (most folks say that these carbon blades give fewer shaves). I "rode the cap" with the FaTip Grande and was almost** BBS in a single pass! Holy cow!
(**I year ago I would have called it BBS and been done. I keep raising the bar on my expectations. That's kaizen, right? ;))

I lathered for a second pass, but it was only a couple of very small touchups. It has been almost two decades since I had a beard, so touching up right to the beardline threw me a little, but otherwise... WOW! That is possibly the smoothest my neck has ever been. The shave was also very free from irritation or burn.

I can already get a single pass BBS with my Ultra (I have to start ATG). However, I can't wait to try riding the cap with the Ultra! I'm just waiting for DEC before I whack this hair off of my face!

I really enjoyed taking off two days worth of growth this afternoon. The past couple of days have been busy, and we just had new carpet put in which forced me to skip a day. Feeling much better now. It's funny how I still look forward to shaving, even being off from work. Tomorrow's Friday gents....have a good one.

Steve, that brush looks nearly identical to the one you made for me. It is easily my favorite brush. I wish I had your skill. I'd be overflowing with superior quality brushes!

Thanks! That was handmade by a friend of mine and was given to me for Christmas many years ago; long before I got into traditional shaving. It fits the hand perfectly.

Maybe you are sensitive to almond oil? I know I am, so I don't try soaps with that oil.
