    FRIDAY'S SHAVE

    Perfumed by:
    Steve Demercado
    [IMG]

    Razor - Edwin Jagger "Kelvin"
    Blade - Astra Superior Platinum
Shave Brush - 22mm "Synthia" Chrome Synthetic Nylon
Shave Soap - Proraso Menthol & Eucalyptus Shave Cream (from sample)
Aftershave - Proraso Menthol & Eucalyptus Aftershave Lotion
Post-Shave Balm - Advanced Clinicals Anti-aging Hyaluronic Acid Cream
Deodorant - Kiss My Face "Cucumber Green Tea"
Fragrance - Calvin Klein Escape for Men

No picture for this. I am transitioning this set's products over to Proraso Green and looking into either a custom deodorant or alternative one. The previous shave soap was Razorock's Zi-Peppino, which was a decent pairing, but I found the tobacco flower scent in this soap seemed to alter the true scent of the CK Escape fragrance. I might rarely swap in the Zi-Peppino scent just for when I want that unique change, but I think I need a set of products that keep the original scent unchanged. Proraso Green's scent is Eucalyptus, which is one of the major notes in CK Escape, so it camouflages into the CK Escape scent seemlessly. For now the cucumber-green tea deodorant, while still a tad different, has a muted scent that doesn't seem to interfere. So this is my temporary set. And this set will now undergo maintenance and upgrades. So, no picture this time around.

I think my situation is probably better suited for this type of razor. Normal skin, fair (and grey) hair, lots of whiskers but individual hairs are thin. If you are looking to move the R50, I would be interested in taking it off your hands.

I love the scent, feel is excellent. My only criticism is that it seems to go pretty fast.

    Razor - Rocnel Elite 2019 “A”
Blade - Feather HI Stainless (2nd use)
Brush - Alpha Brush Outlaw Titanium Fan Manchurian
Soap - Stirling Dirty South Shavers
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre Alum, Stirling Dirty South Shavers A/S Splash

    Rating - 5 of 5

Great smooth shave, 2 pass BBS. No chatter or noise from this razor; hardly know it’s doing the job and paired with this blade, it smoothly glided over my face and cut down 2 days of facial hair growth.

First time using this soap and A/S. Very nice scent. Wish I bought the EdT as well.

Incredible shave, from a formerly "Plated Razor". I had a very smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. This one was sharpened by @gssixgun , a while back, and it is still holding a great edge.

Razor- "The Palmer #41" , Chicago. A hotel razor.
    Brush- Omega 10098, boar
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Hitching Post decanter

    Razor - Gem Micromatic Clog-Pruf
    Blade - CVS Carbon SE
    Soap - Stirling Mountain Man
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum

All righty then. Let's shave, shall we? Took last night off to let the minor cut heal a bit more before pulling out the next razor in line. It's the Micromatic Clog-Pruf. Close relative to the OCMM. The difference? No open comb. Duh. I have generally had more issues with this one cutting me than the OC version, hence the extra caution about the cut issue. I chose Stirling Mountain Man with the Canuck brush for a great scented and quality lather, of course. This razor, in spite of the closed comb, feels more "bladey" to me and, in fact, it did reopen the cut just a bit even with the extra caution I used. Oh well. It's SE shaving. It's a bit more bold. No other issues as three passes went by smoothly and noisily with the fresh carbon blade. Alum was mostly quiet. A tingle here and there but nothing to get upset about. All in all a great shave and a great near-BBS finish. I can't complain.

We have ten days left in September. Yeah, it's gone by that quick. Enjoy your weekend!!

No, but did post same pic on multiple shave forums. Took pic on my work table where I hone straight razors and wedge blades.

Last use of this blade (#3), so a new razor will be used with a new blade for tomorrows shave (I like to keep my razor/blade combo going for the duration of the blade tbh).

Messed around with the lather and bowl this morning. I had surprising results (to me) with the T&H. I kept at it and just poured the water in whilst lathering. I got a very, very, thick and slick lather which was a joy to use. I am going to to another focus soon and i think its going to be one focusing on my lathering, be it face or bowl. It is a hole in my technique atm.

I let my concentration slip and cut my scar badly. A few minutes with the styptic pencil was needed to stop the bleeding. Ouch.
Great shave though. BBS and more!
    Have a great weekend!
