Tuesday, September 27, 2011 Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: EJ Chatsworth Blade: Treet DuraSharp Brush: EJ Best Soap or Cream: Portman Square "Collier Row" Cream/Soap A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, TOBS No. 74 Victorian Lime Splash A fine shave on this rainy morning! The Collier Row has a nice, subtle citrus scent and the TOBS Lime was a very compatible and pleasant way to finish off this shave, leaving my face feeling great.

Tuesday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Personna day 4 Barbon SC Keri unscented moisturizer Barbon AS Polo Original EDT The lather of the Barbon cream is so rich and thick, and it has such a nice scent. It also leaves the skin feeling very smooth and clean. The matching aftershave is a top favorite of mine. The Personna blade that I've been using seems to be holding its sharpness very well - it should last for another 2 shaves.
A little behind posting my Monday night shave: Face: Super Speed w/ Supermax Stainless Head: Fat Boy w/ Astra SP Knotty Erlenmeyer Silvertip Speick Shave Stick Alum TSD Iced Peppermint I wanted something that wouldn't disappoint after a week of vintage Williams. This did the trick.

Tuesday AM shave: Gillette Slim Adjustable set to 9+ (more info below) Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (3) Simpson Special Pure badger Provence Sante my handcrafted bay rum Yesterday I used the Black Handle and didn't tighten the blade all the way for a more aggressive shave. My plan today was to use the Slim set to 9 (as always) and again, not tighten the blade all the way. So as I did yesterday I just closed the TTO knob enough to close the doors and just put a little pressure on theblade, but put no bend in it. I made one N/S pass and the blade being extremely thin was vibrating too much for my peace of mind, frankly the first pass was no better than when the TTO knob was fully torqued down with the slight extra twist. I finished the shave at setting 9. I really like this razor right where it's set, with the 7'OClock Yellow. One absolutely fantastic shave, nothing negative, all positive- an easy BBS. I prefer soaps with light scent. I was given the Provence Sante as a gift from West Coast Shaving and when I received it and smelled it I thought I'll probably never use it because of the scent. One day I decided to try it, and surprisingly I actually like the smell. I have no idea what the scent is, but it's nice. The soap is a great performer too, that helps.
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 Razor: iKon Bulldog Blade: Ladas Brush: Thater Porter Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Trumper Sandalwood A/S: Klar Sandalwood I started my shave with my Wilkinson Sticky and the Personna 74 but determined quickly that the Personna 74 was ready to be changed. Although some people report getting up to 30 shaves out of this legendary blade, mine was done after 6 shaves. I switched to the iKon Bulldog loaded with a fresh Ladas blade and enjoyed an excellent Shave.

I didn't have a decent lather. I had a great lather. Lots of great lather. Lots and lots of great lather. I loved it. Fantastic shave all the way 'round.
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade Lather: TSD ISZ Wheat Cream Brush: Frank Shaving Finest Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf Blade: Ted Pella SS PTFE (3) Post: Alum block, WH + M-Bomb, Aqua Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade This MUCH BETTER shave with the wheat comes with a thanks to Aaron for his help on how he lathers the wheat along with a thanks to Jeff for his straight shave video in which he lathers the wheat. I was being way too rough on it and introducing too much air. This morning the lather was much more stable, had nice slickness to it, and was very cushioning. I'm sure I'll get even better at lathering it but wanted to show my appreciation to the fine members of this forum for all of their help.

Indeed. The finish on mine started flaking off up around the knot not long after I got it. Pretty common, from what I've heard. I took sandpaper, stain, then some poly to it and refinished it. Haven't had a problem since.
That looks good. Mine hasn't flaked, but I have only had it a few months. Mine doesn't have the most attractive piece of wood on it, but the shape of the handle and the knot are both top notch.
