Two passes with decent results. I'm getting fewer nicks every time I use a straight, but still feel the burn afterwards.

Thank you. It's a Wilbert Cutlery that I inherited from a close friend of the in-laws.

If you're experiencing razor burn, the reason is likely one of just a few potential causes: blade angle, blade pressure against the face, or blade sharpness. If your razor is truly shave ready, I'd pay careful attention to technique next go 'round. Pressure not much more than weight of the falling blade, angle 1-2 spine widths from your face. Most likely the burn is a result of either sharpness or angle :):happy088:.

I'm leaning towards pressure and possibly a little angle. I know I have a tendency to push a little sometimes and I do catch myself. I do pay close attention to angle and am pretty good with that, but am sure I stray some. The razor was honed by Glen so I know it's sharp. I strop before each shave so I'm ruling that out. Thanks for the reminder to pay more attention to pressure and angle. Straights aren't as forgiving as DEs.

Evening shave with this 7/8" wedge of Sheffield steel from Marshes & Shepherd. Truly a fine old shaver!

Thanks. I watered it down a little with Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel for my sensitive face. Still a great scent.

Very good results today. Fairly smooth all over, especially the cheeks and neck, and even got the chin pretty good. The Avon Black Suede is nice also.

Another evening shave, another old Sheffield razor…Geo Wostenholm & Son's gold frame back. Fun little razor.

I don't know if it's germane to this thread exactly, but I reviewed a Leopard Salon Razor (shavette) today.

If interested, you can read it here.

    Have a great evening!

Hi, I'm new to the SR scene and was told about this group by Bama Samurai. I just started yesterday shaving with a SR, its an Antoni Tadross honed by (gssixgun)Glen. I also have a strop made by Drygulch (Adam) to get me started. I am moving slow and carefully about SR shaving as I only did my cheeks yesterday WTG, and got no cuts or weepers and finished my shave with a DE razor. hoping to get a full WTG shave in by my birthday
