Transitioning to DE blades, and wondering what everyone does with their used blades for disposal. With the wildlife around my home knowing how to open garbage bins for a meal I want to protect them and humans too from unplanned bloodletting. Although the blades are dull enough to not give a BB shave, they are sharp enough to cut into flesh.

The old hotels used to have a slot in the wall for old blades. The slot just let them drop behind the plaster to sit and rust until the building was torn down or remodeled.

What do you do to safely dispose used blades?

I made a sharps disposal from a medicine bottle.
it ain't pretty, but it works just fine.

Can of condensed milk that is short enough to fit in my drawer. Use a hammer and screw driver (or dremel if you have one) to create the blade opening in the top. Poke another hole elsewhere in the can for air, then drain all of the milk and rinse out really well. Voila, you have a blade bank that can then be dumped directly into the recycle bin when full.

I'm currently using a large prescription bottle, I cut a slice in the top, wrapped some tape around the cap. Done..

Yes, condensed milk is certainly better for new blades...

Thanks for the links Tom, and everyone else for the insight. I'm thinking of using a soup can. I've got a Dremel that would make a nice slot.

Lol... sweetened condensed milk is a childhood favorite of mine. Dip a large spoon in the can and watch my blood sugar go through the roof.

My Vietnamese friends have converted me to espresso and condensed milk over ice. Wired with high blood sugar is the way to go as an adult, lol.

Mine is over on the left. It held some type of rolled up cookie thing with chocolate in the middle. I glued the lid on with Gorilla glue, cut a slot with my dremel and now I glue on the empty wrappers every time I use a new brand of blade.

We did a dessert pairing event at our favorite local coffee shop and that's one of the new coffee styles we were introduced to while there. Very tasty.

I use an old vitamin bottle. It has child proof lid, so I didn't glue it shut. It's clear plastic so there is no mistaking what's in it.

About the same here, small jar that I cut a slit in the lid, hand it over to my trash removal folks when full.

A broth can with a self made label taped to it and a slit cut into the top.

Old tub of Old Spice Piffy pomade. Seems like it will hold a year or so of razors.

We use an Altoid tin, with a slot cut in the side. We tape the lid down & label it with a warning.
