    Oops, I posted this wrong!

    Believe
Today was my sixth shave on this Voskhod blade, and perhaps the best. These blades have proven to be the best value for me - an excellent balance of performance and durability. Today was two days of stubble vs New LC and the Gillette won in the best way. My face is as smooth as it ever was, with the help of B&M Petrichor and my HIS lather monster. Such luxurious lather! I also used Proraso White pre barba for the first time, and it feels great featuring a nice menthol cool. I finished up with Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum for one of the best shaves I've ever had.

    Prep: Proraso White pre barba
    Soap: B&M Petrichor
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Gillette New Long Comb
    Blade: Voskhod (6)
AS: Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum

I like the SB side better - it seems to provide a slightly more efficient shave for me.

12-21 : My shave this morning was the first with my birth year / quarter Gillette Slim.
I had bit of difficulty finding that sweet spot angle. The size and shape of the cap threw me off a bit.
Not a bad shave but not the best.

Prep - Hot shower with Nivea Man Sensitive Skin face wash and Wm. Neumann & Co. Peppermint Leaf Bar Soap
Razor - 1964 Gillette Slim Adjustable TTO (1)
    Blade - Astra SP (1)
    Cream - Geo. F. Trumper's Violet
    Brush - Parker Best Badger

So as soon as my wife clears out of the bathroom lol. I plan on using my Oxford straight razor I purchased from glenn, then some buffing with my tech using my Stirling frozen tundra soap with a little Osage rub afterwards.

    Shave of the Day

    Late Sunday Night

Prep: Shea Moisture Black African soap, homemade sandalwood & patchouli PSO, Hot towel
    Razor: 1946 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Supermax Titanium (2)
    Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Silvertip Badger
Lather: Whoos the Man - Commander
Shave (setting): 3 passes; WTG, XTG, ATG + Cleanup
Post: Cold towel, Royall Spyce splash

Decided to end scruffy weekend before bedtime and do a nice shave.

Reached for the 1946-47 Aristocrat, hadn't used him in a while, and reused the Supermax Titanium blade I had such success with last shave. Used the Commander soap from Whoos the Man, it performs well and smells great, like creamy vanilla, warm oak and sandalwood, Italian bergamot, patchouli, amber, cassia root... It just smells awesome. Some have had trouble with their soaps getting a little hot on the skin, but I haven't had that problem for a while now. Nonetheless, I really like these soaps.

Shave wasn't as perfect as last time, but that was one of those shaves where the planets align and the gods look down in favor upon your shave. The result of this shave was still a very smooth and soft face.

Hope your weekends were good and have a great Monday, gents.

Saturday, Dec 21, and Sunday Dec 22 (Winter Solstice shave)
The usual prep, and shave cream, etc, but both these shaves were with the GEM Clog Pruf. I got a really close shave with it, but did have some issues getting used to the weight and size of the razor, compared to the Shick G. It worked well, but ended up cutting a mole. Not the first time, but the first time since switching to single blade shaving. The MMCP must shave closer than either the Shicks. I still rate the shave a solid DFS. Happy Yule, to all of you

    Yesterday's SOTD (12/21):

Used the Standard Razor again, 3rd day in a row, with the same Derby blade. Probably the last use of this particular Derby... After three shaves with it I'm starting to notice a difference and it seems to be pulling a little.

Today's was with MWF and the big Turkish brush... A fantastic combination. You could lather a schoolbus with the amount of lather this combo creates.

Also posting pictures below of the Standard Razor's rather "non-standard" connection from the handle to the head, for those who are interested. It doesn't seem to affect the shave in any way... Just a different connection than the standard Gillette threading. I am thoroughly sold on this razor after 3 successive days of using it. Highly recommended!
